Twenty Knot Tommy

From Target: Babies in Open, Fire For Effect.
What we refer to as a Sea Story.
This is a funny one. And I have never been to NavSta Charleston. No birdfarms there.

Systems Required to Operate X-47B From an Aircraft Carrier Successfully Tested

Some interesting news from n-Grumman. Never gonna capitalize that first word or even give it mention. Once a Grumman Guy, always a Grumman Guy.
But this is a neat piece of machinery. I would love the chance to go to sea with it. Really. At my age. It would be such a trip. And give a shot of youth again.

Uniform Stuff

The link is to a post at Target: Babies in Open. Fire for Effect.
It has to do with what the author describes as Aquaflage...That being the new Navy Working Uniform. With comments on the Air Force's new Casual Uniform. It is both humorous and pointed at the same time.
Just for info a couple of pics to see what we are talking about.
Air Force Casual Uniform

Navy Working Uniform.
I have yet to see any active personnel here at Edwards in the Casual Uniform. Even if I were in the AF, I would avoid wearing this one. Like it says in the post, Blockbuster!
At one point in the eighties, the idea of Aviation Enlisted Personnel going to a three tone gray camo uniform was discussed. Tradition still won out back then.
Any who, here is the link...............

The old and the new: Enterprise and George H.W. Bush

From Theo at Last of The Few.
History made in this one. As some of you may know, Enterprise is due to be decommissioned some time in 2013. She was commissioned on 25 November 1961. I was seven. She has been in service for almost fifty years.

Go to the link and you can see it much larger.
Thanks Theo.

New Header Pic

I needed something with snow and ice..............and having a retro painted EA-6B and EA-18G of The Vikings of VAQ129 out of NAS Whidbey Island WA flying over Mount Rainier seemed to work. It is a beautiful shot, don't you think?
