From Air Force Technology:

First ya need a gun!

A fun little post from Old NFO at Nobody Asked Me.
The best and most bitchin flying killing machine around.

U.S. Air Force Media Flight – Travis Air Force Base … PART I

This was on the Wordpress home page today.
This young lady has some really good stuff here.
A look at the inside of a KC-10 on a mission refueling the Thunderbirds and a few other items.

Air Force Civilian Maintainers!

That being me.
This shot was by the CTF Photographer one day when he simply showed up on the line.
I was watching flight controls being run through as part of the launch process.
F-16 Falcon engines put out a lot of heat as you can see.
Doing what I do.

Canadian Voodoos!

I found this one at the Canadian Forces website. The Canucks flew some cool airplanes over the years. And since Buck has related to us his "Voodoo Moment", I figured what the heck.
Enjoy!

Buck's Voodoo Story

I do believe you all will get a kick out of this one.
It was sort of inspired by yours truly and the picture of the F-101 Voodoo at Century Circle at Edwards AFB Rosamond Gate.
And Buck is a masterful story teller!
Enjoy!

More Gratuitous Plane Pr0n: Portuguese AF

These are from 301 Squadron, Jaguares.

We have a Portuguese Test Pilot here from this very squadron. These are of the Tiger Meet Jet from this past May.
Up close of the tail.

Taking to the Sky!
I may not be a really big fan of the F-16 from my own biased seagoing point of view. It pays the bills.
But I do like the NATO Tiger Jets. And there will be the Czech AF Gripens at a future date.

Royal Norwegian Tiger Meet F-16

From Tiger Meet 2010. No shot yet of the RNoAF at Tiger Meet 2011. So this is the best ya get.
Maternal Grandmother's parents came here from Norway. ACC on 666 of The RNoAF here at the 416 CTF. The pilot of record is Major F. A. Evensen.
Y'all have seen the picture of me in front of "Christine" before.
But these Tiger Meet paint jobs are awesome. Maybe I will be doing this semi regular, just because.

Plane Pr0n again, part ?

The link is to a picture on Airliners.net.
It is a logo jet, A330-243 of Etihad Airways. Using the colours of the Manchester City Football Club. Nice paint job.
I would copy but airlines.net doesn't allow it. So you will have to go to the link and check it out.

Systems Required to Operate X-47B From an Aircraft Carrier Successfully Tested

Some interesting news from n-Grumman. Never gonna capitalize that first word or even give it mention. Once a Grumman Guy, always a Grumman Guy.
But this is a neat piece of machinery. I would love the chance to go to sea with it. Really. At my age. It would be such a trip. And give a shot of youth again.

New Header Pic

I needed something with snow and ice..............and having a retro painted EA-6B and EA-18G of The Vikings of VAQ129 out of NAS Whidbey Island WA flying over Mount Rainier seemed to work. It is a beautiful shot, don't you think?

787 Dreamliner arrives at Paris for the Air Show.

I have to admit that at first I did not like the lines on this bird. But having seen the footage of it in flight, I have begun to like it.
And it is quite the performer, as I can tell. And as with any new technologically advanced and laden product, it had it's problems early on.
But enjoy.

Cool Video (And Hot FLIR) Views Of The 787 Landing At Paris

Got this one from AirPigz. One of the best, off the wall aviation blogs around. Always has neat stuff up! But this one is really cool!

The Army’s Quest for its Own CAS – Part 3

The third in a series from Bring the heat, Bring the Stupid.
..............In the first two posts, I discussed the Army’s efforts to develop an organic close air support (CAS) capability.  In spite of restrictions, the Army considered jet-powered forward air control (FAC) aircraft, which looked very much like fully capable attack aircraft.  This met, as expected, with resistance from Air Force leaders, who judged the Army’s jets an unwanted encroachment the junior service’s mission............

Got some neat looking and downright strange looking aircraft here today. Like this sample below.
I will be linking the entire series as they are posted.

Interesting segment. It also has the Northrop N-156F a derivative of the T-38 Talon.
I am learning some things from these posts.
